F.A.Q.s

What is an EORI Number?

EORI stands for “Economic Operators Registration and Identification number”.  Businesses and people wishing to trade must use the EORI number as an identification number in all customs procedures when exchanging information with Customs administrations.

Is an EORI number mandatory?

The EORI number is unique, assigned and recognised by the EU customs authorities. The EORI number is already mandatory for all companies and every export outside the European Union. If you already have an EORI number for your exports, please note that you can use the same one for your imports

What happens if you don't have an EORI number?

If you don't have an EORI number then you can't import or export goods from the EU legally. This is because the number is used for customs declarations of all goods entering or exiting the EU. Without a number, you could face increased costs (such as storage fees) and delays. If you do not already have an EORI number you can apply for one at the European Commission Website HERE
